A pink slip inspection is also called an eSafety Check, and this type of safety inspection is done on light motor vehicles that are five years old. This check is a legal requirement in NSW in order to declare vehicles as safe to drive before being allowed to renew their registration.

Pink slip inspections are a simple mechanical assessment that looks at specific worn or outdated components of the vehicle that could potentially be dangerous to the driver, occupants and other cars on the roads.

When the professional mechanics on our team complete the eSafety Check and the vehicle passes the test, DSY Auto will submit the pink slip to the Roads and Maritime Services for you, saving you the trip.
As of the day of inspection, there is a six-month period within which you are required to renew your car’s registration.
From there, you need to purchase a CTP green slip. All motor vehicles registered in NSW are legally required to do this so that compensation is provided if anyone is unfortunately injured or killed in a car accident. So long as all the CTP insurance requirements are met, you can renew your rego online or in person.
Keep in mind that pink slips only remain valid for six months. If you are unable to do your registration renewal at that time, your vehicle will have to be inspected again so that you can get a new pink slip.
If a car doesn’t pass the eSafety inspections, it can’t receive a pink slip and the registration can’t be renewed.

If you can have these repairs done in the next 14 days after receiving the Repairs Needed report, we will complete a new safety check, but we won’t charge you a second time.
Once all the repairs have been completed and your vehicle passes the inspection, we will provide a pink slip and you can then renew your registration at any point in the next six months.
